Assistant Data Protection Officer

We are recruiting for an Assistant Data Protection Officer for part time post - 30hrs per week, for a minimum 6 months contract with possibility of extension. 

JOB SUMMARY:

The main tasks of the post will involve:

• Development of BSO’s existing information asset register, to enable assurance to be provided to our SIRO
• Development of mechanisms for auditing data protection arrangements within BSO and client organisations
• Review of existing data flows and sharing arrangements

Essential Criteria:

University Degree or professional qualification in a data protection / information governance related field AND 2 years’ experience in the analysis, interpretation and practical application of relevant legislation (i.e. UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018) at a management level* * Band 4 and above

OR

2 years’ experience in the analysis, interpretation and practical application of relevant legislation (i.e. UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018) at a management level* * Band 4 and above

AND

• A GCSE (Grade A-C) in English Language or equivalent to demonstrate satisfactory literacy skills required to discharge the role
• An understanding of data protection issues within Health and Social Care
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of project management techniques
• Driving Licence and access to a car on appointment.
