Team Leader

We are supporting a Mental Health & Learning Disability charity to recruit for Team Leaders across two sites in Wexford in the Republic of Ireland.  The organisation is currently going through an exciting time of change and growth.  We have plans to double our size within the next 3 years and expand our geographical locations and service provision.  We have a passion for caring and want to continue to make a difference to the lives of those living with disabilities, mental ill health, acquired brain injury, or dementia across the Republic of Ireland.

You will be part of a Team providing innovative and bespoke packages of care for some of the most vulnerable individuals. Each 5 Residents has a tailored package to support their being able to live within the residential setting. The dedicated team of staff provide 24 hr support to the individual with Intellectual Disability who live in their residential home. Staff are involved in developing the resident’s confidence and abilities to live as independently as possible.  Routine, structure and the provision of a consistent approach across the staff team is important to the Resident. 

There will be challenges on the way as we support the Residents to reach their desired goals. You will make a real difference in people’s lives by creating opportunities and collaborating with other agencies to promote the best outcomes for each individual. 

Job Purpose/Summary:

The Team Leader is part of the support team whose function is to meet the practical, physical and emotional needs of individuals living in this innovative scheme for adults with intellectual disabilities. Through a key worker system, he/she will also be responsible for the designing of individual programmes of support and co-ordinating the delivery of the package by a group of Support Workers and him/herself.

CRITERIA:

Professional qualification in Social Work/Applied Social Studies or First or Second Level Nursing or Occupational Therapy (must have a live professional body registration)

AND knowledge of the intellectual disability/autism group

OR

2 years’ paid experience in the intellectual disability/autism field AND at least one of the follow qualifications;

  • Degree in any discipline
  • Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care Suite
  • HND in any discipline
  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 in the Health and Social Care Suite
  •  QQI/FETEC Level 5-8 Major Award in the Health and
  • Social Care Suite
  • QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care
  • AVCE in Health and Social Care
