Residential Support Worker

Contracted for Camphill Community - Glencraig we are recruiting for Full Time Residential Support Worker's to work within this beautiful setting in Holywood. A holistic approach to care is taken.

All posts are full - time and include sleepover shifts so you need to be flexible to fit within the staff rota. You should have a minimum of 6 months recent experience working within a Learning Disability setting.

You will be willing to undergo an Enhanced Access NI through Keenan Healthcare and be either registered with or willing to register with NISCC (Northern Ireland Social Care Council).

Main Purpose:

To assist the team in providing the highest possible standard of support and care to children and /or young people with disabilities and challenging behaviour.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the child / young person as directed by the Teaching staff /House Co-ordinators and/or Group Leaders

• Promotes and participates in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for the child / young person

• Set up activities and various items of apparatus for the child / young person

• Supervision of the child / young person during the day either at home or in school

• Deal with minor First Aid

• Report and record all accidents and significant events

• Assist the child / young person with intimate care needs if required

• Carry out various cleaning duties

• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with individuals and other professionals

• Participate in team meetings and attend supervision and annual appraisal reviews with your line manager

• Reflect on Practice and learn from it, attend relevant mandatory and other in-service training programmes as required.
