I want a job in IT? How do I get one?

During May and June 2020 we have seen a rise in IT vacancies across different levels which has been really interesting as remote working and technology has allowed for candidates and clients to connect and continue to provide IT services for staff.

These have included Graduate Level positions which are open to our new cohort of early graduates in May.   These posts are to provide IT support to specific projects that have received the green-light during COVID. Projects have included data collection and analysis,  and Systems Support for Staff Remote Working.  These posts are also open to candidates who may not hold a Degree but up to four years relevant experience.

We also have Senior IT professional positions available.   These posts are for experienced professionals who hold a Degree and up to 2 years working experience.   These posts are to support specific Projects managing data, and PRINCE 2 would be a requirement.

Other interesting opportunities that we are recruiting for are Management positions working with Directors and Policy Makers to deliver and manage IT services for a Pilot Programme.   Experience at Director level or Assistant Director level within Public Sector is essential.   PRINCE 2 is desirable but not essential.  Demonstrating leadership skills and delivering on time and in budget is important.

When recruiting for these positions there is usually a very specific set of criteria to meet so do spend some time working on your CV to ensure you clearly outline your education, placement and work experience. If you are not sure you will meet the criteria on your current CV, contact the Recruitment Consultant in advance of your application to discuss how best to outline your skills and experience in your CV.  If you are successfully shortlisted you will be invited for interview with the client.  Your Recruitment Consultant will discuss the Job Description and the Client with you and help you to prepare.   Following the meeting you will either be offered a position or it will be on to the next opportunity.
