Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Cancer Centre

Now recruiting on behalf of our client for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to work within a cancer Centre in Belfast.

Job Summary / Main Purpose:

The post-holder will support the Lead Occupational Therapist in planning, delivering and evaluating the Occupational Therapy Service provided to Oncology and Haematology patients attending the Cancer Centre and designated wards within the Belfast City Hospital, on a day-to-day basis.

The post-holder will have a comprehensive knowledge of and implement specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to manage complex physical, functional, social and psychological consequences of cancer and its treatment.

The post holder will partake in service improvement initiatives for people at all stages of the cancer pathway from diagnosis, through active treatment, living with and beyond cancer, through to palliative and end of life care.

CRITERIA:

- Must have 2 years post qualification experience, 12 months of which should be in physical medicine. A minimum of 6 months experience working in an acute hospital setting.

- Diploma of the College of Occupational Therapy or Degree in Occupational Therapy from a College recognised by WFOT.

- Must have HCPC Registration or be eligible for same.
