Fire Safety Officer - Band 6

Keenan Recruitment is currently recruiting for a full time Fire Safety Officer for a Hospital based in Newry. The hours are Monday to Friday 09.00 17.00.

The post holder will have the responsibility to provide fire safety advice and support, undertake fire safety training, carry out fire risk assessments and fire audits ensuring the Trust is in compliance with statutory standards.

Criteria:

Degree in Building/Engineering or equivalent with 2 years’ experience in a fire safety role which must involve carrying out fire risk assessments*

or

HNC/D in Building/Engineering or equivalent or higher qualification with 3 years experience in a fire safety role, 2 of which must involve carrying out fire risk assessments*

or

Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working as a Fire Safety Officer in a Built Environment, 2 of which must involve carrying out fire risk assessments*.

or

Firefighter with a minimum of 5 years experience and with a minimum of 3 years having been spent in a fire safety role, 2 of which must involve carrying out fire risk assessments*.

*Fire risk assessment means carried out on a non-domestic or/and shared premises which included identifying persons at risk, measures taken to reduce or eliminate the risk of fire and a record of significant findings produced on a templates such as PAS 79, HTM Firecode guidance, or similar recognised fire risk assessment format.
