Physiotherapist - Band 6 Acute Care at home

Now recruiting on behalf of our Client for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to work within the Acute Care at home service in Belfast. Full time hours.

Job Summary / Main Purpose:

The post-holder will rotate on a yearly monthly basis through each speciality area including Critical Care, Cardiothoracic Unit,medical and surgical respiratory patients, Burns Unit, Adult Cystic Fibrosis; community respiratory and Oncology.

The post-holder will be expected to:

•Provide a high standard physiotherapy service to all patients.

•Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

•Hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service/patient type, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences. Access to advice from senior physiotherapists is available if required. Clinical work is not routinely evaluated.

•Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

•Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and team’s clinical practice, making recommendations for change to practice to the Team Leader.

•Supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students as required.

As a rotational specialist Physiotherapist work as part of a multi disciplinary team providing comprehensive physiotherapy service to patients referred across a range of locations and specialist areas. To manage own caseload utilising evidence based assessments, intervention, evaluation and timely discharge and to provide specialist advice within area of expertise to other staff.

The post holder will be required to provided clinical supervision and training to less experienced staff and help maintain a stimulating learning environment including involvement in the in-service training programme.

To participate in on-call and out of hours service

In response to continued service development , the duties of the post may be conducted over a seven day period.

Suitable applicants must meet the Criteria below:

BSc Physiotherapy or equivalent

AND

HCPC Registered Physiotherapist

Must have previous NHS experience in Adult care, have fitness to work (certificate issued through Keenan) and be willing to undergo an Enhanced Access NI through Keenan Healthcare.
